NAEBA, Japan -- Mikael Kingsbury overcame foggy conditions to win a gold medal as Canada took four medals in single moguls at an FIS World Cup event Saturday. Kingsbury from Deux-Montagnes, Que., took gold in the mens event with a score of 25.34, scoring high with an twisting backflip and cork 1080. It was the eighth win and ninth podium finish for Kingsbury this year, who wrapped up the overall World Cup title. "Im pretty happy, its a dream come true," Kingsbury said. Jeremy Cota of the U.S. was second with 24.76, and Cedric Rochon of St. Sauveur, Que., with his first career podium finish, was third with 24.50. "Im so happy, I dont realize it yet, my first podium on world Cup I got my job done for the first time," Rochon said. In the womens event, American Hannah Kearney was first with a score of 25.49. Audrey Robichaud of Quebec City, rebounding from a back injury that caused her to miss most of the teams off-season training, was second with 24.24 and Montreals Justine Dufour-Lapointe earned her seventh podium finish of the season, placing third with 24.02. "Im really stoked right now; Ive been working on getting my back stronger, getting used to impact for my back," Robichaud said. "Getting on the podium today is really big after the year Ive had." Dufour-Lapointe said she was also happy with her performance. "Its been a really tough competition and Im tired after a lot of competitions in a row," she said. "So, I really have to fight and ski with my heart. "In Quebec were not used to skiing the powder, were used to ice. This was very different but I like going fast in the fluffy moguls." Chloe Dufour-Lapointe, Justines sister, was fourth with 23.85. The third Dufour-Lapointe sister, Maxime, was 22nd. Heavy snow overnight and fog made for challenging conditions on the course.
