KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe has a concussion and linebacker Tamba Hali has a swollen knee, and both have been ruled out for Sundays game at San Diego. The Chiefs are expected to rest most of their starters anyway against the Chargers. Kansas City is already assured the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoffs. The bigger question is whether Bowe and Hali will be ready for the Chiefs wild-card playoff game the following weekend. Bowe sustained a concussion when he was hit in the neck area by LaRon Landry in last weeks 23-7 loss to Indianapolis; Hali hurt his knee in the same game. Theres a possibility the Chiefs could face the Colts again in the playoffs. "Im just glad that we were on top of it," Reid said of Bowes concussion. "Thats the main thing. I dont care about anything else but getting him right. I just want to make sure hes OK." When pressed about having Bowe ready in time for the playoffs, Reid responded: "Listen, Im hoping hes right. Lets make sure hes right." Bowe had had a disappointing first season since signing a $56 million, five-year contract in the off-season. He has just 57 catches for 693 yards and five touchdowns, each of those totals his fewest in any season in which hes made more than 12 starts. Bowe also became a distraction the week before a loss to Denver when he was pulled over for speeding and arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession. Hes due in court next month. Reid said that Bowe practiced Tuesday, took Wednesday off and didnt feel right on Thursday. Trainer Rick Burkholder and the teams doctors examined him. Bowe then began going through the proscribed concussion protocol. "Well see how he does," Reid said, "but for this game hes out." Reid said that Hali is "making progress" after he came out of the Colts game with swelling in his knee, but with little to play for against San Diego, the prudent decision was to rest him and make sure hes available for the playoffs. Hali missed the second half against the Chargers last month with a sprained ankle. "Tamba is listed as out for this game. Hes got a swollen knee," Reid said Friday. "He is making progress, so thats a good thing. Everybody else practiced today." That includes linebacker Justin Houston and left tackle Branden Albert. Even though the Chiefs are expected to rest most of their starters against the Chargers, Houston and Albert have missed several games with injuries and could benefit from shaking off some rust before the playoffs. Both are listed as probable for San Diego. Houston has been out with a dislocated right elbow and Albert a hyperextended left knee. "Im recovered, feeling good and ready to help this team win," Albert said. "Im preparing like Im going to play. Thats the goal, to help this team win, next week, this week, whatever." Defensive co-ordinator Bob Sutton said Thursday that Houston, who had 11 sacks in 11 games before getting hurt, appears to be "pretty confident" that hes ready to go. "Thats a big part of any injury, the player once hes cleared, he has to feel good, too," Sutton said. "Hes practiced really hard. I think obviously hes really close." When asked whether it makes sense for Houston to get some snaps before the start of the playoffs, Sutton said: "I think it would be great if he could, but I wouldnt lose a lot of sleep if he didnt. Hes a veteran player whos played a lot of snaps, so its not a huge thing." John Stallworth Jersey.C. - Wendell Scott earned a second NASCAR first on Wednesday: He became the first African-American driver to be elected to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Michael Vick Jersey. -- Navy football player Will McKamey, who has been hospitalized since collapsing at practice three days ago, has died while in a coma. http://www.footballsteelersjerseysgears.com/authentic-mel-blount-steelers-jersey/. The Goldeyes (10-7) lost 4-1 to the Saltdogs (8-9) Sunday afternoon before 5,834 sizzling fans at Shaw Park. The loss drops Winnipegs record to 3-4 during this past weeks seven-game homestand. NEW YORK -- The revolving door of suspensions will spin again Thursday in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference final. Rangers defenceman John Moore will start a two-game suspension for an illegal check to the head of Montreal forward Dale Weise in Game 5 Tuesday. Canadiens agitator Brandon Prust returns from his two-game ban for breaking Derek Stepans jaw in Game 3. Daniel Carcillo, meanwhile, will meet commissioner Gary Bettman on Friday to appeal his 10-game suspension for jostling a linesman in the aftermath of the Prust hit. The Moore ban was the latest shoe to drop in a drama-filled Eastern final, which the Rangers lead three games to two despite losing 7-4 Tuesday. The New York defenceman was given a major penalty and ejected from the game at Montreals Bell Centre when, at 10:41 of the third period, he nailed Weise with a blindside open-ice hit that was almost identical to Prusts unpenalized hit on Stepan. Weises helmet was knocked off and he was wobbly when he got up, with teammate P.K. Subban grabbing him in a bear hug for support. He left for treatment but returned to the bench late in the period. There was no immediate word on Weises condition. Asked Wednesday how his player was, Montreal coach Michel Therrien told reporters after an optional practice: "I didnt see him this morning." But in its video explaining its ruling, the NHL department of player safety said Weise had "suffered an injury a result of the hit." It did not elaborate. The video notes that, unlike the Stepan check, the Moore hit was not late. But it also says Moore drove upwards when he hit Weise, making the forwards head the primary point of contact. The league said that Weise made no sudden movements prior to the hit, so the onus was on Moore to avoid contact with Weises head. Prior to the NHLs ruling, Rangers coach Alain Vigneault had argued that any extra discipline against Moore for the hit was unnecessary. "It doesnt meet the league standard as far as a late hit," Vignneault told reporters at a Wednesday morning availability in Montreal.dddddddddddd "It was a hit that Johnny caught him a little high in the chest, (the) player didnt see it coming. "It probably warrants the penalty that was given on the ice. Other than that, I dont see what else it could warrant, but Ive been surprised before." Moore plays on New Yorks third defensive pairing with Kevin Klein while Stepan centres Rick Nash and Chris Kreider in one of the Rangers top lines. Prust plays on the Habs fourth line while Weise was elevated to the third line during the playoffs. Vigneault said the Moore and Prust cases were different. "Well, the player didnt see him coming, obviously, but the guy (Weise) was admiring his pass a little bit at the same time," he said. "Unfortunately, it was a hit and because of the force of the hit, the head seemed to snap back a little bit. But as far as what I know about league standards and from what I heard from the Prust hit where the dynamics of the hit changed because Stepan was hurt, I dont see that at this time right now." Stepan underwent surgery to repair his jaw but the Rangers centre returned to action Tuesday and scored two goals while wearing a chin guard. Montreal forward Daniel Briere, at a late-afternoon availability at the teams Manhattan hotel, did see the plays as similar. "I think its fair," he said of the Moore ban. "Brandon paid the price for it and obviously if you talk to us were probably thinking (it should be) more. You talk to the Rangers, they were thinking less, obviously. Thats just the way it is. I guess its kind of a middle ground. "I think the biggest thing is seeing that Dale is OK. Thats what matters the most for us." Added Canadiens captain Brian Gionta: "Its kind of what I would have thought would have happened. Theyre very similar plays and I guess the precedent was set on Prusts hit. So its the NHLs decision. It looks very similar." cheap jerseys　 cheap jerseys　cheap nfl jerseys　Ray Ban Outlet Michael Kors Outlet Michael Kors Sale Cheap Michael Kors ' ' '
